Two decades of learning how leather behaves.
Grand Dragon was founded in 2003 by a team with direct experience of Italian leather workshops and Chinese production. That combination — craft sensibility, industrial discipline — still defines how we develop and manufacture today.
Our story
The company began as a development-led workshop serving brands that needed someone to interpret a drawing, not simply execute an order. Over time, the work moved from individual styles to full seasonal programmes, and from one production site to two.
Today we operate from China and Bangladesh. Both sites work to the same development standards, quality gates and documentation. The difference is where a programme is best placed — for cost, for capacity, for duty, or for supply-chain resilience.
We are deliberately not the largest manufacturer in our segment. Our model depends on senior people staying close to every programme: the person who approves a material is the person who answers for it in production.
What we are not: a trading company or a broker. Development, sampling and production are managed by our own teams.
Hand finishing remains part of the process, even where the line is mechanised. Illustrative image.
Two decades, two countries.
Only verifiable dates are shown. Additional milestones will be published once confirmed by our records team.
Small teams, clear ownership.
Each programme is led by a merchandiser who owns the calendar, supported by a technical lead who owns the sample and the bill of materials. Quality reports to production management independently of the line supervisor.

Say what is true
If a material is unavailable, if a sample date moves, or if a defect is found, we tell the customer early. Bad news does not improve with age.
Build the sample twice
The first sample proves the design. The second proves the process. We do not move to bulk until the second is approved and sealed.
Respect the people who make it
Safe workplaces, lawful hours and fair treatment are the baseline of a SMETA-audited operation — and the only sustainable way to keep skilled hands.
